Update!: Here is a free course I put together on memrise to help you learn the prayer Hail Holy Queen or Salve Regina in Latin and English. The program guides you through practising your new knowledge to help it take root in your memory.

Memrise is a very cute app that helps remind you to practise flashcards regularly - more frequently at first, then tapering off as your memories solidify.

Salve Regina, mater misericordiae,
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve. Part 1

Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Hevae,
ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes in hac lacrimarum valle. Part 2

Eia, ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte. Part 3

Et Jesum benedictum fructum ventris tui
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende

O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.

For those who play the organ, here is sheet music to accompany the Salve Regina from the Vatican II Hymnbook

The Final Exam

This exam tests you on each word of the Salve Regina. 15 questions to be completed in 15 minutes.

You should be able to translate each word as well as have a good idea of which word comes next. There is a little bit of typing. Parents may help younger students - it's about helping people understand Latin prayers.

Entering your name helps me see which students have attempted the exam.

A perfect score should give a link to the certificate of completion which you can print.

You can repeat the exam as many times as you need to get a perfect score.
