Interlinear texts

Where do I start?

I grew up reading hymnbooks and music books for fun. We always had a piano and I knew enough to decode tunes from the piles of music which grew close by. I would be leafing through books of anthems, lieder, pop music and anything else. A fairly sizeable chunk was in languages other than English, but that didn’t matter so much because they pretty much always had a running translation under each line of text.

Most prayer books put the translation in a separate column, but music usually goes for interlinear translations. Except this Psalter and this one sorted according to the hours and this new testament and there are probably lots more, but these don’t give a word-for-word gloss.

Anyway, with this handy WordPress Plugin: Simple Interlinear Glosses now I can type up my own interlinear texts in html.
