Luke’s Gospel 21:25-33 – very similar to last week’s extract from Matthew’s Gospel. Last week we focus on the end times, this week on the second coming of Jesus. They are connected, so there is some overlap.

WARNING: It’s a long Gospel! This week’s illustration from Jerome Nadal’s book, Images of the Evangelical Gospels, is not so much based on today’s Gospel reading, as associated prophecies from the book of the Revelation of John, or the Apocalypse.

Fr Nadal’s Book is Missing A Sunday! This coming Sunday! The Sixth Sunday after Epiphany, which is one of the swing Sundays which can crop up either just before Lent or just before Advent.

I thought I’d combine these two, as we have a busy week approaching, plus the book of illustrations doesn’t cover these readings directly. Christ the King recounts the conversation of Jesus Christ with Pontius Pilate, and there is an illustration of this in Fr Nadal’s book.
